FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Our members report that the prompts and conversations in the Commons help them notice more joy in their daily lives, empower them to do things for their own enjoyment (instead of just taking care of everyone else), and inspire them with new ideas for bringing joy into their parenting, work, relationships, and leisure time.
The Commons is a hosted, intimate space for those who want to dive deeper into joy and growth. Members get access to workshops not available anywhere else and invitations to small group conversations with authors and other leading thinkers in the happiness and well-being space.
It’s also a place to be in touch with Ingrid and get any questions answered, which isn’t something that’s offered in our other programs.
Participation in the community is completely up to you. Some members check in daily, others weekly. Some join every live call, others skip them and focus more on the chat.
For many, the Commons becomes an uplifting substitute for mindless scrolling. With all the best parts of the internet (inspiration, connection, recommendations, resources) and none of the algorithmic overwhelm, it’s a digital space that energizes instead of drains.
Not at all. This is a toxic positivity-free zone.
Of course we celebrate wins and share daily joys, but we also talk a lot about barriers to joy and how to hold on to it alongside other more challenging emotions.
The Commons includes people of all ages (24-82!) from all over the world. You’ll find artists, executives, scientists, new parents, grandparents, retirees, students — all thoughtful, curious folks committed to joy and craving genuine connection.
The Commons is hosted on a private platform called Circle, which you can access on a desktop browser or free mobile app. (We recommend the latter!) Virtual meetups take place on Zoom.
One of the reasons we chose Circle is for its flexibility in this area. You can adjust your settings to fit your preferences for more or fewer notifications — even turning them completely off.
We send out event reminders and monthly recaps via email so you can stay in the loop even if you decide to take a break from the conversation.
Yes! Membership is monthly and you can cancel anytime — no long-term commitment required.
